I know of some wanderlusters aka friends [surprise!] claim that traveling is cheaper than staying in their own country aka home. So the question is, is this really true? What better way to spend my evening than doing some budget calculations!!! nope.
Anyways… Let’s get the geekypeeky out and breaky this downy!
So the expenses for when staying at home:
Rent: on an average will probably be $500 for a decent size room per week
Commuting: to and from work, $50
Household items: Inclusive of toothpaste, shampoo, soap and such $50
Groceries: If you’re only a weekend cook like me, it’s about $120 for breakfast and two meals on weekends
Meals Out Weekdays: If you eat lunch and dinner out and each meal costs an average of $7, that’s $70 per week
Meals Out Weekends: And if you’re like me, you would probably splurge on dinners/ lunch out with friends, lets calculate that as 2 meals out, then that’s $120 per week
Phone/Internet Bills: $30 per week
Other fancy stuff: $200 per week
